Customized Therapeutic Massage

We apply a therapeutic holistic view of the body to design a 60- to 90-minute massage customized to our client's concerns.

While we do not adhere to one method, our massage may include; trigger point release therapy, Gua Sha tool technique, deep tissue and therapeutic medical massage. Your practitioner will help you to decide which therapies are right for you.

Gua Sha Tool Technique

Gua Sha is a healing technique used in traditional East Asian medicine in which the practitioner uses a smooth-edged tool to gently scrape areas of the body to reduce inflammation, improve circulation and promote healing.

Trigger Point Release Therapy

A trigger point is a tight area within your muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of your body as well. They might show up as sharp, intense spasms, or as a dull generalized ache.

Trigger point therapy involves the applied pressure to these painful, sensitive areas in order to alleviate pain on site as well as in other areas of the body. Massage and trigger point therapy are sometimes used together.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue.

Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits. Unlike other massage techniques that focus on relaxation, deep tissue massage helps to treat muscle pain and improve stiffness. But it can still help to you unwind mentally, too.

Ortho-Bionomy®

Ortho-bionomy is a gentle, non-invasive body work therapy that re-educates the body through self-corrective reflexes to find ease and balance. The practitioner facilitates possible changes in the body by engaging the body's self-corrective reflexes using gentle movements and comfortable positioning.

Based in osteopathic principles, ortho-bionomy is an approach to manipulative treatment that can help clients release tension, improve range of motion, and heal from both physical and emotional trauma stored in the body’s memory.

Shika Pollard, Ortho-Bionomy Associate

My approach to ortho-bionomy is a holistic view of the entire body: physical, mental, visceral, emotional, energetic, and spiritual that when balanced and combined has the innate ability to heal itself. Keeping energetic space for the client's whole being while tuning in to specific areas and good communication between myself and the client leaves room for possibilities that bring dynamic changes in the whole-body relationship with natural re-alignment, a decrease in pain, anxiety, stress, and a general sense of well being.

MCKS Pranic Healing®

Pranic Healing is an ancient healing therapy that is practiced by hundreds of thousands around the world, which focuses on the energy fields surrounding and within the human body. It is a no-touch complementary therapy utilizing the prana or vital energy as a major source of healing.

Pranic Healing is used to correct imbalances in the body’s energy field. It can help to accelerate the body’s innate ability to heal at all levels, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

Shika Pollard, MCKS Pranic Healer

My approach to pranic (energetic) healing is also a holistic one in that we are all exposed to various energetic forces each and every day that accumulate in our auras, chakras, and our physical bodies causing discomfort and pain, illness, and a sense of heaviness and dis-ease. Using prana to clean and sweep the whole body then specifically effected chakras and related areas, the energetic and physical bodies can return to right relationship. This brings the chakras, energetic body and physical body back into balance creating a clearer path to healing and a sense of inner peace.
